Most plumbing calls are about water going where it shouldn't, or not going where it should. Gareth handles everyday household plumbing across Caterham and the surrounding towns: leaking pipes and joints, dripping taps, toilets that run on or won't flush, cisterns, waste pipes, outside taps, and isolation valves that have seized or were never fitted.
How a plumbing visit works
Gareth starts by finding where the water is coming from, which is not always where it shows. A stain on a ceiling can come from a shower tray, a radiator valve or a pipe a few feet away. Once the cause is clear he explains the repair and the price before going ahead.
What changes the price
Access is the biggest factor. A joint under a sink is quick; a pipe under floorboards or behind tiles takes longer and may need making good afterwards. Old fittings and hard-to-find parts also add time.
